INTER-LIBRARY CODE CLUB ROBOT CHALLENGE

The Sully round of the Inter-Library Code Club Robot Wars will be held in Sully Library between 2:30 and 4:30 pm on Wednesday 7th August. • Thanks to the Vale Library Service, we have the use of Lego kits and Ipad tablets sufficient for 8 children to participate. They must be between 9 and 13 on the day of the event and members of Sully Library (it’s easy and free to join!) • Each team will consist of two children, who will be provided with two Lego WeDo 2.0 kits. The kits include electric motors that are controlled and programmed using the supplied IPad, together with a selection of appropriate Lego parts, gears, wheels etc.. • Teams will have 30 minutes to go through one of the basic models and to discover how everything works. • During the following hour each team will design, build their own Lego robot with which to do battle with those of the opposing teams. • The final half hour will be for the battles between each team’s robots. • The winning team from each Library will then take part in the Finals to be held at Barry Library on Wednesday 21st August to find an overall winning team. If you wish to enter the competition, please email the Library with your name, age and Library membership number. Spaces are limited, so don’t delay! Our email address is sullylibrarytrust@gmail.com
