Centenary of Armistice - Weekend Events

Sully and Lavernock Community Council would like to thank residents of the community of Sully and Lavernock, for their help in making last weekend’s commemoration of the Centenary of the Amistice so memorablel.

The Church was packed for the Remembrance Service, with many young people and children from the uniformed organisations present. The rendition of the ’Last Post’ was excellent as were all the young people who took part in the service.

At 6pm the beacon was lit - it immediately ignited and soon the warmth from the blaze could be felt by the many attendees of all ages, standing around the fire. It was a very poigiant and wonderful sight to see.

None of this could have taken place without the help of residents and if you carried out any of the following tasks, many thanks for all your efforts. It was so uplifting to see the community working together. Who knows what we can do in the future.
